Next up on Etruria beat, is the Dutch duo Hush & Sleep who have been steadily making name for themselves in the past year. They deliver a stunning two tracks EP with Farrago and Marco Effe on remix duty. The EP starts off on a joyous note with the track Mirth. As this is an old English word for gladness, the main melody takes you on a carefree ride supported by a stomping kick and dreamy pads in the back. Farrago takes a more stripped down approach with his version. He builds on the dreamy pad, making it serve as a warm blanket over his signature tight percussion. Contradicting Mirth, the second original slowly starts to drag you into a feeling of hysteria, hence the name. Taking their signature kick as the foundation, Hush & Sleep use a haunting melody that lingers on in the back and sets an eerie mood. Marco Effe’s remix is a deep stunning techno groover. Taking the main melody but twisting it into his own wonderful creation and sending you off on a journey into time and space.
Fire in the hole! Luca Agnelli’s Etruria Beat hits its 40th release and it’s a truly historic affair with two very top remixers : Slam and Truncate!
Now seven years deep into the label’s innovative techno trip, Etruria has made nurturing exciting new Italian talent one of its key signatures. Bastinov, Dast, Reform, Kaiser, Diego Amura and Toms Due are just some of the progressive creators Etruria have supported over the last two years alone. But for this release it’s down to the label bossman himself… And he’s made sure it’s a deeply Etruscan affair.
Released in the wake of his mass-scene-supported ‘Metamorphosis’ EP and building on a body of work that boasts tastemaker labels such as Soma, Drumcode and Planet Rhythm, Luca lays down two slabs of absolute dynamite that not only bang, but also tie his sound, vision and inspiration back to his deepest roots with rich mythology…
‘Voltumna’ pays homage to the supreme god of Etruscan people. Not just in name and honour, but also in its powerful dynamic and touching balance of shades thanks to its atmospheric, rhythmic chord. ‘Aplu’ continues this spiritual theme with a dedication to another Entruscan divinity. An offering to the god of thunder and lightning, once again it lives up to its name with a barbed rolling dynamic that suddenly cracks open into a cosmos of light and emotion before hurling you back into the dark drum drama. Thunderous isn’t the half of it.
It comes complete with two exceptional remixes of ‘Voltumna’ by Slam and Truncate. Soma bosses Slam add their signature Glaswegian grit with distorted textures that loop in a hypnotic frenzy while Truncate strips the groove back to a jacking dynamic that becomes progressively bouncier with raw machine funk insistency. Across the originals and remixes there’s not a corner in techno that isn’t exceptionally explored here; this is by far one of the biggest and most heartfelt releases Luca has given the world to date. Do not sleep on this one.
Bastinov returns on Etruria beat after his big success “Space Programmer” with a new great ep named Solar System, composed by three original tracks and one remix. Etruria Beat is really happy to welcome Hokkaido´s producer Hiroaki Iizuka for his first ep including three original tracks and a remix .
The Japanese producer uses a lot of random synth sequences , analogue beats on the title track “ Cosmic Run “ . The second track “ Field Effect “ is a more melodic tune , more reverb and syncopated beats .
“ Flash Point “ is based on a 909 beat and analogue synth sounds .
Etruria ´regular Bastinov is on the duty of remixing “ Field Effect “
Etruria Beats prodigy Dast is back with a four tracker ep named HARADON The main title starts with an energic modular sound arpeggiated joined by a magic groove. The remix of Kevin De Vries, confirms his sound, stated with Eternity released on Drumcode. The second original track IXOR is a maximum expression of the roland 909 and POWER HOUSE MELODY. PIG & DAN remix is characterized by a voice that makes the track super hypnotic and explosive.
This is Alignment ´s first release on Etruria Beat , an Italian dj and producer based in Berlin. This EP, composed of two original tracks and two remix, starts with the main track Gravity, characterized by a 90′s dry kick mixed with a heavy sub, here the synth riff is always present and go along with some background coming and going pads . Black Hole is based on a frisky and overwhelming bass riff that opens and closes for almost the entire song accompained by a pad that create dark atmospheres which will trap you down in a black hole. Avgusto remix sounds really industrial, characterized by massive reverbs and low background synths. Finally we have the remix of Reform, where the main synth doesn’t change and the well structured track id defined by break/drop that will leave you on suspense.
